Community Guidelines
Last updated September 24, 2026
HumHerd is a place to hum and play music with other people. These guidelines keep it calm and safe. They apply to everything you share here: sounds, names, profiles, comments, notes, rooms, and messages.
Who can take part
Anyone can hum as a guest. Accounts, and everything that lets people contact each other or post words and images (messages, comments, notes, profiles), are for people 18 and older. Do not create an account if you are younger, and do not misstate your age.
Be kind
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to harm themselves.
- No hate: do not attack people for who they are, including race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
Keep it free of sexual content
HumHerd is not a place for sexual content. Do not post or send sexual images, sexual messages, or sexual propositions, including in private messages.
Child safety: zero tolerance
We do not allow any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a child. This includes child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexual or romantic messages to a minor, and asking a minor for images, personal details, or to move to another app. We remove it, close the accounts involved, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
If you see something that puts a child at risk, report it in the app and choose "Child safety or under 18", or email hello@humherd.com. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
Respect consent and privacy
- Never share or threaten to share an intimate image of anyone without their consent, including a fake or altered one. See Terms section 7 for how to have one removed within 48 hours.
- Do not post anyone else's personal information, such as a home address, phone number, or school.
- Be careful with your own. You do not need to share personal details to hum with people.
Be yourself
- Do not impersonate another person, band, or organization.
- No spam, scams, or automated accounts.
- Share only music and images you made or have the right to share.
If you are struggling
HumHerd is not a crisis service. If you are thinking about harming yourself, or you are worried about someone else, contact local emergency services. In the United States you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Reporting and blocking
You can report people, sounds, rooms, and notes from inside the app. The reasons include harassment, hate or violence, sexual content, child safety, and intimate images shared without consent. Blocking someone hides them from you and stops messages in both directions. Blocks are never announced to the other person.
A person reads every report. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, limit features, close accounts, and, where the law requires or someone is at risk, contact NCMEC or law enforcement. We do not tell the reported person who reported them.
